I am Dr. Chantal, Licensed Acupuncturist and Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine. I have been practicing Chinese Medicine since 2009. Life has led me in different directions in terms of what I treat. Although I believe in the ability of Chinese Medicine to treat a wide range of imbalances, I will give you a summary of what I treat and why I am good at treating these specific issues.
My education started out with a focus on Orthopedic Acupuncture. While in school, I became a massage therapist and developed quite a keen sense of the body. My path veered off from acute and chronic pain relief but has recently come back to it. A few years ago, I discovered the amazing sport of trail running. I have since become very passionate about running and spend a lot of time on the trails. During this time of building up endurance and strength, which I am still and will always be doing, I have incurred several injuries along the way. From rolled ankles, achilles tendonitis, runner’s knee and pulled hamstrings, you name it, I have had it. It is for this reason coupled with my background in massage and my education and clinical experience in orthopedic acupuncture that I am skilled at treating athletes. My goal is to keep my fellow runners running pain and injury free. Free Flow Health Acupuncture is derived from a Chinese Medicine ideology that states where there is free flow, there is no pain and where there is no pain, there is free flow.
That leads me to my other specialty which focuses on Women’s health. Just out of school, I became pregnant with my first son. This drew fertility and pregnancy patients to me. I began spending a lot of my time focusing on learning more about women’s health from a Chinese and Western Medicine point of view. Over the past several years, I have helped numerous woman balance their hormones, regulate their cycles for general wellbeing and to fulfill their desires of becoming parents. I also have worked with men to help increase sperm quantity and quality. I am very passionate about helping women understand their cycles and tap into the rhythm of their bodies to better their lives in all areas.
Any imbalance is welcome in my treatment room. Men, women, children, digestive issues, anxiety, depression, and so on. If there is something I feel someone else is more skilled at treating, I have no issue with referring out. The benefit of coming to see me is that I look at you as a whole person. I make dietary and lifestyle suggestions and prescribe herbs and supplements as I see fit. My first course of action is always food as medicine. I also very much encourage anyone who comes to see me to take back control of their health as we are the best healers of our bodies.
